A series of paintings exploring the compositional structure of tree forms. These compositions begin with an all-over sponteneous treatment of mark-making on the canvas by working up layers of thick buttery brush strokes and expressive marks made with Oil Sticks. I like to create a mysterious feel with light peering through the trees which elude to a light filled background landscape.
